This Privacy Policy describes how FingerPrintSimilarity, developed and published by Q's Ministry / BHITS (“we”, “our”, or “us”), handles information when you use the FingerPrintSimilarity mobile application. This is an offline App. FingerPrintSimilarity allows users to capture images of fingerprints using their device camera and compare the visual similarity of fingerprint patterns for familial relatedness. This policy applies to the FingerPrintSimilarity mobile application available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
1. Information the App Accesses
Camera Access
FingerPrintSimilarity requests access to the device camera in order to capture images of fingerprints that the user wishes to analyze using your phone’s camera. The camera is used only when the user intentionally chooses to capture a fingerprint image. The application does not activate the camera in the background.
2. Fingerprint Images
Fingerprint images captured by the app are used only for local similarity analysis performed on the device. The app compares patterns in the captured images in order to estimate visual similarity. Its purposes are many, including possible relatedness given similarity indexes.
Important:
• FingerPrintSimilarity does not attempt to identify a person.
• The app does not perform biometric authentication.
• The app does not create biometric templates used for identity verification.
• The app does not maintain a centralized fingerprint database.
3. Local Processing
Fingerprint comparison calculations occur entirely on the user’s device. The app does not upload fingerprint images to external servers for analysis.
Because the analysis occurs locally:
• fingerprint images remain on the user’s device
• the developer cannot access fingerprint images captured by the user
This design minimizes the collection of sensitive information.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Captured fingerprint images are stored only within the app’s local storage unless the user explicitly exports or saves them.
Temporary images used during processing are stored in the app’s cache directory.
Temporary files are automatically removed by the operating system or deleted when the app clears its working cache.
5. Deletion of Data
Users can delete locally stored images by:
• removing them within the app
• clearing app data in device settings
• uninstalling the application
When the app is uninstalled, all locally stored application data is removed by the operating system. Because fingerprint images are not transmitted to developer servers, the developer does not retain copies of user fingerprint images. You have the choice to take photos of fingerprints, save them in your album and upload for similarity analysis- the photos you upload are not transmitted or stored in the app. This is an offline app for your private use.
6. User Consent and Permissions
The application requests camera permission when first needed. Users can revoke camera permission at any time through device settings.
If camera permission is denied, the fingerprint capture feature will not function.
7. Data Sharing
FingerPrintSimilarity does not sell or share any data or images, with third parties. Fingerprint images are not transmitted to external servers. The user can choose to send or receive album images through their own device’s shared functionality.
8. Children
FingerPrintSimilarity is not directed toward children under the age of 13. The application does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Third-Party Services
The application may rely on platform services such as:
• Apple App Store
• Google Play Store
• device camera frameworks
These services operate under their own privacy policies. The application itself does not maintain external databases of fingerprint images.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the application. When changes are made, the updated policy will be posted at the same public URL.

1. Purpose of the Application
FingerPrintSimilarity is designed to compare fingerprint patterns for similarity.
The application is intended for:
Pedigree Research
• entertainment
educational purposes
• research experimentation
• visual pattern comparison
The application is not intended for identity verification or forensic identification.
2. No Biometric Identification
The application does not determine identity or confirm that two fingerprints belong to the same person.
Fingerprint similarity results are approximate and depend on:
• image quality
• lighting conditions
• finger placement
• camera resolution
Results should not be used for legal, forensic, or security purposes.
3. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for obtaining permission before capturing another person's fingerprint.
The application must not be used for:
• unauthorized biometric tracking
• surveillance
• identity fraud
• unlawful identification activities
4. Intellectual Property
All software, algorithms, and design of FingerPrintSimilarity are owned by Q's Ministry / BHITS.
The application may not be copied, reverse engineered, or redistributed without permission.
5. Limitation of Liability
FingerPrintSimilarity is provided "as is".
The developer makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, reliability and/or validity of similarity results.
The developer is not responsible for any damages resulting from the use of the application.
